To make perfectly cooked rice for biryani, start by soaking basmati rice in water for 15 minutes. Drain the water and let the rice dry for 10 minutes before frying it in ghee or butter with cumin seeds. This will ensure that the rice stays moist and doesn’t break apart during the cooking process.

- 3 pound Cod fish
- 1 no finely sliced onion
- 1 no cut tomato
- 5 no green chilies
- 2 no bay leaves
- 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste

- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tsp canola oil(for cod fish masala)
- 2 tsp ghee( for toasting rice)
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups Basmati Rice
- 5 cups Hot water

Take 4 cups rice, wash with water. To make perfectly cooked rice for biryani, start by soaking basmati rice in water for 15 minutes. Drain the water and let the rice dry for 10 minutes. Take one wok, put it on stove top on medium heat, add ghee or butter, add cumin seeds and toast the rice for 5 minutes. Once the rice is toasted, keep the toasted rice aside.
Take instant pot, add one layer of toasted rice at bottom.
Add a layer of masala cod fish on the rice.
Add another layer of rice and masala cod fish.
After layering toasted rice and masala cod fish, add 5 cups water to instant pot.
Put the lid on, Put the led on and set the 'Fish' mode on. Cod fish biryani is ready in 10 minutes.
Let the instant pot cool down, take the lid off. Cod fish biryani is ready in instant pot.
